15 сентября вышла 139 серия аниме «Покемон: Солнце и Луна». И в ней главный герой Эш Кетчум наконец-то стал чемпионом Лиги покемонов в регионе Алола и получил титул Мастера покемонов. Чтобы заполучить победу, Эшу понадобилось 1080 эпизодов сериала и 22 года.
С 1997 года тренер покемонов участвовал в нескольких лигах, но постоянно проигрывал. В итоге он все же победил в финале тренера Гладиона и стал чемпионом.
